Dr. Christopher Mutter was born in 1961 in Rheinfelden, Baden. Nothing in his childhood suggested that he would one day be a Doctor of Law, auditor and tax accountant, with his own practice.

Music was his first love, and at his parents’ house in Wehr he particularly enjoyed playing the piano. At the age of eight, together with his sister, the violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, he won a national prize in the “Young Musicians” competition. Further success followed, including first prize in the Jecklin Competition for young pianists in Zürich. Christoph Mutter trained as a concert pianist at the Winthertur Conservatoire in Switzerland and received private lessons from Enrique Barenboim in Tel Aviv.
