Basel II prescribes that securitisation of equity must be governed by the credit risk involved in the individual creditworthiness of the debtor. External ratings and the risk premiums to which they give rise cause
the traditional forms of financing to lose much of their attractiveness
for many businesses. A remedy can be found here by using mezzanine capital
or asset-backed securities. |
